At present a large number of senior citizens are living alone or do not have children. They also do not have a computer at home for accessing email. Since income tax returns are being filed only once a year, their relative living in a different city may help them file the return.
However,if there is any problem and the government department sends a notice, the senior citizen may not be able to access the email. The relative will have to take a printout and send it usually by post, and there are delays.
